In early 2015, friends suggested entering the garden in ‘Ealing In Bloom’. Hesitant at first, as the garden was so early in its restoration and development, I soon rose to the challenge and set to work!
The garden was created over a period of only 10 months before the judges first visited and all the landscaping and planting was done on a very small budget. I scoured the internet for old garden benches, containers and statues to give the garden an authentic, established feel.
Three sets of judges visited the garden in June and July 2015. Despite it being only 10 months old at the time, I was happy that the judges commented, 'it looked as if the planting and landscaping had been there forever'. In September 2015 at the Town Hall, the garden won ‘Best Large Garden’ and ‘Best Improved Garden’.
